ZOMIG Nasal Spray is a 5HT1B/1D receptor agonist (triptan) indicated for: Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults (1) Important limitations: Use only after a clear diagnosis of migraine has been established (1.2) Not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine (1.2) Not indicated for the treatment of cluster headache (1.2) 1.1 Acute Treatment of Migraine Attacks ZOMIG Nasal Spray is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults. 1.2 Important Limitations ZOMIG should only be used where a clear diagnosis of migraine has been established. If a patient has no response for the first migraine attack treated with ZOMIG, the diagnosis of migraine should be reconsidered before ZOMIG is administered to treat any subsequent attacks. ZOMIG is not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic or basilar migraine [see Contraindications (4.6)]. Safety and effectiveness of ZOMIG have not been established for cluster headache, which is present in an older, predominantly male population.

8.3 Nursing Mothers It is not known whether zolmitriptan is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when zolmitriptan is administered to a nursing woman. Lactating rats dosed with zolmitriptan had levels in milk equivalent to maternal plasma levels at 1 hour and 4 times higher than plasma levels at 4 hours.
