Answer by Dr. Ru: About Rosiden usage in lactation

It is excreted in breast milk in clinically non-significant amount and no problems have been observed in infants whose mothers took this medication. Levels in plasma and urine of such infants were undetectable. Having published less quantity of studies than with other drugs of the same group, safer alternatives may be preferable, especially in the neonatal period and in case of prematurity. The American Academy of Pediatrics rates it as usually compatible with breastfeeding.

Answer by DrLact: About Rosiden usage in lactation

Low amounts of Rosiden in milk and failure to detect Rosiden or its metabolites in the urine of 2 older infants indicates that it would not be expected to cause adverse effects in older breastfed infants. Because there is no published experience with Rosiden during breastfeeding in the newborn period, shorter-acting agents may be preferred while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.

Rosiden Side Effects in Breastfeeding

No adverse effects were found in the breastfed infant of a patient receiving 20 mg of Rosiden daily for 4 months starting the 9th month postpartum.[1]Four infants 3 to 4.5 months of age remained healthy during long-term therapy of their mothers with Rosiden 20 mg daily.[2]
