I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use CCRIS 6094? Is CCRIS 6094 safe for nursing mother and child? Does CCRIS 6094 extracts into breast milk? Does CCRIS 6094 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can CCRIS 6094 influence milk supply or can CCRIS 6094 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?
If CCRIS 6094 is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. Intense diuresis with large doses may decrease breastmilk production.
CCRIS 6094 2 mg was given twice daily for 8 days beginning within 24 hours of delivery to suppress postpartum lactation. Patients also had breast binding for at least 10 days and fluid restriction. The authors reported that this technique was effective in 124 cases reviewed.[1] There are no data on the effects of diuretics on established lactation.
