I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Urea C 14? Is Urea C 14 safe for nursing mother and child? Does Urea C 14 extracts into breast milk? Does Urea C 14 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Urea C 14 influence milk supply or can Urea C 14 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Information in this record refers to the use of urea C14 as a diagnostic agent. No information is available on the use of urea C14 during breastfeeding. However, administration of urea C14 directly to pediatric patients is considered to be safe.[1] The International Commission on Radiological Protection recommends that breastfeeding need not be interrupted after administration of urea C14.[2]
