Is Tocainidum Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tocainidum? Is Tocainidum safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tocainidum extracts into breast milk? Does Tocainidum has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tocainidum influence milk supply or can Tocainidum decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Limited data indicate that rather large amounts of Tocainidum are excreted into breastmilk. Because of the relative lack of data concerning breastfeeding during maternal Tocainidum therapy, exclusively breastfed infants should be carefully monitored if this drug is used during lactation, possibly including measurement of serum levels to rule out toxicity if there is a concern.
