Is Crizotinib Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Crizotinib? Is Crizotinib safe for nursing mother and child? Does Crizotinib extracts into breast milk? Does Crizotinib has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Crizotinib influence milk supply or can Crizotinib decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of crizotinib during breastfeeding. Because crizotinib is 91% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 42 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during crizotinib therapy and for 45 days after the last dose.
