Answer by Dr. Ru: About Deflazacort usage in lactation

Drug which is oxazolinic-derived from Prednisolone with similar properties to the latter. At latest update no published data on excretion into breast milk were found. Due to a moderate high molecular weight and rapid elimination time it is probably safe while breastfeeding, mostly in non long-term treatments. Until more data on this drug is available, it would be preferred other options that are known to be safer, specially during the neonatal period and prematurity.
