Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use beta-Phenylethylhydrazine? Is beta-Phenylethylhydrazine safe for nursing mother and child? Does beta-Phenylethylhydrazine extracts into breast milk? Does beta-Phenylethylhydrazine has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can beta-Phenylethylhydrazine influence milk supply or can beta-Phenylethylhydrazine decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About beta-Phenylethylhydrazine usage in lactation

Because of the lack of data on use during breastfeeding, other antidepressants are preferred during breastfeeding.

beta-Phenylethylhydrazine Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

beta-Phenylethylhydrazine can elevate serum prolactin in some patients[1] and has caused galactorrhea in nonpregnant, nonnursing patients.[2] The clinical relevance of these findings in nursing mothers is not known. The prolactin level in a mother with established lactation may not affect her ability to breastfeed.
