Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Copanlisib? Is Copanlisib safe for nursing mother and child? Does Copanlisib extracts into breast milk? Does Copanlisib has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Copanlisib influence milk supply or can Copanlisib decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Copanlisib usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of copanlisib during breastfeeding. Because copanlisib's half-life is about 39 hours, it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during copanlisib therapy and for 1 month after the last dose.
