Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Ozenoxacin? Is Ozenoxacin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Ozenoxacin extracts into breast milk? Does Ozenoxacin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Ozenoxacin influence milk supply or can Ozenoxacin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Ozenoxacin usage in lactation

No information is available on ozenoxacin cream during breastfeeding. Because it is poorly absorbed after topical application and is safely used in infants, ozenoxacin is acceptable to use in nursing mothers. Although quinolones are generally acceptable for systemic use, ozenoxacin should be avoided on the nipple because the infant could ingest the drug via licking.
