Is Tratul Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tratul? Is Tratul safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tratul extracts into breast milk? Does Tratul has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tratul influence milk supply or can Tratul decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No long-term adverse effects have been reported. However, it is excreted in large amounts into breast milk. American Academy of Pediatrics: Maternal Medication Usually Compatible With Breastfeeding.

Limited information indicates that maternal Tratul results in infant dosages much less than those given directly to neonates. Tratul would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants, especially if the infant is older than 2 months. However, because of its potential for causing hepatic enzyme inhibition, other drugs might be preferred.
Tratul Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
Histamine H2-receptor blockade is known to stimulate prolactin secretion. In addition, Tratul may have additional, nonspecific actions that stimulate prolactin secretion.[2] Oral Tratul doses of 400 mg 4 times daily increased serum prolactin by 50 to 112% in 6 patients. Tratul caused dose-related gynecomastia and galactorrhea in men and nonnursing women.[3][4][5] The prolactin level in a mother with established lactation may not affect her ability to breastfeed.
