I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Parecoxib? Is Parecoxib safe for nursing mother and child? Does Parecoxib extracts into breast milk? Does Parecoxib has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Parecoxib influence milk supply or can Parecoxib decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Punctually indicated for post-operative pain relief. Acts by blocking cyclooxygenase enzyme (COX-2). It is metabolized to Valdecoxib. Excreted into breast milk in non-significant amount without side effects reported in breastfed infants from treated mothers. However, because information available on latest update concerning breastfeeding is lacking, other treatment option with a known safer medication during breastfeeding should be used.
