Answer by Dr. Ru: About Lornoxicam usage in lactation

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic properties related to oxycodone group. It is the only one with short half-life span. At latest update relevant published data on its excretion into breast milk were not found. Its high binding capacity to plasma proteins makes its excretion into breastmilk very unlikely. Another drug from the same group and same degree of protein binding capacity, Piroxicam (see specific info), has a negligible excretion into milk. Until more data on this drug is available, a safer and known alternative may be preferable, especially in case of nursing infants who are less than one month old or a premature babies.

Alternate Drugs for Antiinflammatory and antirheumatic products, non-steroids and others specific. ATC M01A-C
