I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Bay 1099? Is Bay 1099 safe for nursing mother and child? Does Bay 1099 extracts into breast milk? Does Bay 1099 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Bay 1099 influence milk supply or can Bay 1099 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor which acts within the gastrointestinal tract without being absorbed, reducing intestinal absorption of glucose. Very low risk of hypoglycemia in monotherapy. Bay 1099 is excreted in breast milk in minute quantities (Serrano 2014, Pfizer 2012, AEMPS 2009) reaching a relative dose much less than 1%. Diet, exercise, and breastfeeding improve blood sugar levels.

Limited data indicate that Bay 1099 is poorly excreted into breastmilk. Because Bay 1099 is also poorly absorbed orally, it is unlikely to adversely affect the breastfed infant.
