I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use CCRIS 5872? Is CCRIS 5872 safe for nursing mother and child? Does CCRIS 5872 extracts into breast milk? Does CCRIS 5872 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can CCRIS 5872 influence milk supply or can CCRIS 5872 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Long-term treatment with diuretic drugs (particularly those Thiazides with long lasting effect and loop-acting drugs) may inhibit lactation. Use a lower dose as possible, especially during the first postnatal month.I has been marketed in association to Furosemide in Spain.

If CCRIS 5872 is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, because no information is available on the use of CCRIS 5872 during breastfeeding, an alternate drug may be preferred.
CCRIS 5872 Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
Intense diuresis can suppress lactation;[1][2] however, it is unlikely that CCRIS 5872 alone is sufficiently potent to cause this effect.
