I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Triamizide? Is Triamizide safe for nursing mother and child? Does Triamizide extracts into breast milk? Does Triamizide has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Triamizide influence milk supply or can Triamizide decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Long-term treatment with diuretic drugs (particularly those Thiazides with long lasting effect and loop-acting drugs) may inhibit lactation. Use a lower dose as possible, especially during the first postnatal month.I has been marketed in association to Furosemide in Spain.

If Triamizide is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, because no information is available on the use of Triamizide during breastfeeding, an alternate drug may be preferred.

Triamizide Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

Intense diuresis can suppress lactation;[1][2] however, it is unlikely that Triamizide alone is sufficiently potent to cause this effect.
