Can Salicylic acid, 4-amino- influence milk supply or can Salicylic acid, 4-amino- decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Limited information indicates that maternal Salicylic acid, 4-amino- therapy produces low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants, especially if the infant is older than 2 months. Exclusively breastfed infants should be monitored for rare instances of jaundice, gastrointestinal disturbances, hypokalemia, thrombocytopenia, hemolysis and hypokalemia if this drug is used during lactation.[1]
Salicylic acid, 4-amino- Side Effects in Breastfeeding
Salicylic acid, 4-amino- was used as part of multi-drug regimens to treat 2 pregnant women with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Their two infants were breastfed (extent and duration not stated). At age 1.8 and 4.6 years, the children were developing normally, except for except for a mild speech delay in one at age 1.8 years, and failure to thrive in the other, possibly due to tuberculosis contracted after birth.[2]
