I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Eulaxan? Is Eulaxan safe for nursing mother and child? Does Eulaxan extracts into breast milk? Does Eulaxan has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Eulaxan influence milk supply or can Eulaxan decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

A laxative which acts as stimulant in the intestine. A low oral bioavailability due to minimal intestinal absorption that renders the plasma levels being very low would explain the non passage to breast milk observed (undetectable levels: Friedrich 2011). On prevention or treating constipation, it is essential a balanced and rich-in-fiber diet along with a lot of fluids and physical exercise.

Eulaxan is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, and its active metabolite, which is absorbed, is not detectable in breastmilk. Eulaxan can be taken during breastfeeding and no special precautions are required.
