I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Difenossilato [DCIT]? Is Difenossilato [DCIT] safe for nursing mother and child? Does Difenossilato [DCIT] extracts into breast milk? Does Difenossilato [DCIT] has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Difenossilato [DCIT] influence milk supply or can Difenossilato [DCIT] decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No data exist on the use of Difenossilato [DCIT] during breastfeeding. One expert panel considers Difenossilato [DCIT] to be unacceptable during breastfeeding.[1] Based on its chemical and pharmacological similarity to narcotics, occasional small doses of Difenossilato [DCIT] may be acceptable while breastfeeding an older infant, but alternatives are preferred, especially while nursing a newborn.
