Is Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate safe for nursing mother and child? Does Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate extracts into breast milk? Does Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate has any long term or short term side effects on infants? No data exist on the use of Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate during breastfeeding. One expert panel considers Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate to be unacceptable during breastfeeding.[1] Based on its chemical and pharmacological similarity to narcotics, occasional small doses of Ethyl 1-(3-cyano-3,3-diphenylpropyl)-4-phenylisonipecotate may be acceptable while breastfeeding an older infant, but alternatives are preferred, especially while nursing a newborn.
