I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Nimodipine? Is Nimodipine safe for nursing mother and child? Does Nimodipine extracts into breast milk? Does Nimodipine has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Nimodipine influence milk supply or can Nimodipine decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Excreted into breast milk in a non-significant amount. Because of pharmacokinetic data (high protein-binding capacity and low oral bioavailability) the observed low excretion into breast milk would be explained. Nimodipine does not alter secretion of Prolactin.

Based on limited data, amounts ingested by the infant are small and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.
