I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Hypotrol? Is Hypotrol safe for nursing mother and child? Does Hypotrol extracts into breast milk? Does Hypotrol has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Hypotrol influence milk supply or can Hypotrol decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Because there is little published experience with Hypotrol during breastfeeding, other agents may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.

Hypotrol Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

Hypotrol 200 mg given intravenously during labor 10 minutes to 3 hours before delivery for obstetric sedation reduced the sucking behavior of the newborn infants.
