I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Lorexane? Is Lorexane safe for nursing mother and child? Does Lorexane extracts into breast milk? Does Lorexane has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Lorexane influence milk supply or can Lorexane decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Insecticide and scabicide drug of great liposolubility. It is a extensively absorbed through skin, thus, it is not recommended to be used in newborns or infants younger than 2 months. When used in the mother, cleanse the breast thoroughly.

Topical application of Lorexane can increase Lorexane milk levels for at least several days. Because it is potentially toxic in infants, is a persistent environmental contaminant, and possibly has estrogenic effects that could decrease lactation as well as affect the nursing infant, another agent is preferred.[1][2][3][4]

Lorexane Side Effects in Breastfeeding

In a telephone follow-up study, 9 mothers used Lorexane topically for head lice during breastfeeding. One reported irritability in her breastfed infant.[8]

Lorexane Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
