I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Ovadziak? Is Ovadziak safe for nursing mother and child? Does Ovadziak extracts into breast milk? Does Ovadziak has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Ovadziak influence milk supply or can Ovadziak decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Insecticide and scabicide drug of great liposolubility. It is a extensively absorbed through skin, thus, it is not recommended to be used in newborns or infants younger than 2 months. When used in the mother, cleanse the breast thoroughly.

Topical application of Ovadziak can increase Ovadziak milk levels for at least several days. Because it is potentially toxic in infants, is a persistent environmental contaminant, and possibly has estrogenic effects that could decrease lactation as well as affect the nursing infant, another agent is preferred.[1][2][3][4]

Ovadziak Side Effects in Breastfeeding

In a telephone follow-up study, 9 mothers used Ovadziak topically for head lice during breastfeeding. One reported irritability in her breastfed infant.[8]

Ovadziak Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

Hexachlorocyclohexane appears to have some estrogenic activity which could suppress lactation.[6]
