(It may be helpful to improve maternal BP).Choose an appropriate anti-hypertensive drug and check-up for a potential decrease on milk production by the effect of diuretics (Use a lower dose because the mammary gland acts as a secretory organ for about 1 liter a day) WHO and AAP consider hydrochlorotiazide to be a safer drug for breastfeeding.
