Systemic absorption through skin or vaginal mucosa is not significant. Wash hands thoroughly. Avoid using it it on the breast or cleanse before nursing.

Vaginal (+-)-1-((4-(p-Chlorophenyl)-2-((2,6-dichlorophenyl)thio)imidazole has not been studied during breastfeeding. About 5.5% of a vaginal dose is absorbed and its plasma half-life is 21 to 24 hours. Because there is no published experience with (+-)-1-((4-(p-Chlorophenyl)-2-((2,6-dichlorophenyl)thio)imidazole during breastfeeding, other agents may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
