It has been used as complementary drug for local anesthesia, on compounds for dermatology or oral surgical procedures. Since the last update we have not found published data on its excretion in breast milk. They are harmless when properly used. Absorption is almost nil (AEMPS 2008). Avoid applying it on the breast, otherwise, cleanse the area thoroughly and/or do it after having nursed. List of WHO essential medicines: compatible with breastfeeding (WHO / UNICEF 2002).
