Is Feridex Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Feridex? Is Feridex safe for nursing mother and child? Does Feridex extracts into breast milk? Does Feridex has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Feridex influence milk supply or can Feridex decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Feridex is a complex of iron oxide and dextran, similar to iron dextran. It is not expected to pose a toxic risk to a nursing infant. If Feridex is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, because there is no published experience with Feridex during breastfeeding, other agents may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
