Is Vesanoid Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Vesanoid? Is Vesanoid safe for nursing mother and child? Does Vesanoid extracts into breast milk? Does Vesanoid has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Vesanoid influence milk supply or can Vesanoid decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Vesanoid has not been studied during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should probably be avoided after oral use. Because it is poorly absorbed after topical application, it is considered a low risk to the nursing infant.[1][2][3] Ensure that the infant's skin does not come into direct contact with the areas of skin that have been treated. Only water-miscible cream or gel products should be applied to the breast because ointments may expose the infant to high levels of mineral paraffins via licking.[4]

A review of adverse reaction reports on retinoids causing a breast reaction submitted to a French pharmacovigilance center found 1 case of gynecomastia was associated with topical Vesanoid use.[5]
