I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Ascorbic Acid? Is Ascorbic Acid safe for nursing mother and child? Does Ascorbic Acid extracts into breast milk? Does Ascorbic Acid has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Ascorbic Acid influence milk supply or can Ascorbic Acid decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Vitamin C is abundantly present in food. A balanced and comprehensive diet makes vitamin supplementation useless. Any amount of vitamin C taken by the mother as a supplement does not affect significantly the concentration in breast milk of women who are on a varied and balanced diet.
