I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Risatriptan? Is Risatriptan safe for nursing mother and child? Does Risatriptan extracts into breast milk? Does Risatriptan has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Risatriptan influence milk supply or can Risatriptan decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. Similar to Sumitriptan composition which is known to have a low excretion into breast milk.

No published experience exists with Risatriptan during breastfeeding. If Risatriptan is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding; however, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
