I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Zomig ZMT? Is Zomig ZMT safe for nursing mother and child? Does Zomig ZMT extracts into breast milk? Does Zomig ZMT has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Zomig ZMT influence milk supply or can Zomig ZMT decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. Similar to Sumitriptan composition which is known to have a low excretion into breast milk.

No published experience exists with Zomig ZMT during breastfeeding. If Zomig ZMT is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding; however, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
