Answer by Dr. Ru: About Beclomethasone Oral / Rectal usage in lactation

Used for treatment of Ulcerative Colitis. The amount of drug absorbed is transformed into inactive metabolites by the liver, therefore excretion into breast milk is unlikely. A high serum protein-binding capacity turns it excretion less likely. Most expert's opinion is that topical, oral or inhaled steroid medication is compatible with breastfeeding, WHO Model List of Essential Drugs 2002 rates it as compatible with Breastfeeding.
