Answer by Dr. Ru: About Nedocromilo [Spanish] usage in lactation

It is administered by inhalation for prevention of asthma and atopic rhinitis and as eye drops for allergic conjunctivitis. At latest update relevant published data on excretion into breast milk were not found. Pharmacokinetic data (very low bioavailability after inhalation, orally or ophthalmic application with very low plasma levels achieved, moderately elevated molecular weight and a high protein-binding capacity) would render it rather unlikely a significant passage into breastmilk, which would also cause a poor absorption through the infant’s gut . It is a well tolerated drug with indeed no side effects and none of them reportedly to be serious. The small dose used and low plasma absorption of most inhaled preparations (either buccal or nasal), topically apply as ophthalmologic or dermatologic preparations, make it unlikely any passage in a significant amount into breastmilk.

Answer by DrLact: About Nedocromilo [Spanish] usage in lactation

Although no published data exist on the use of Nedocromilo [Spanish] during lactation, maternal milk levels are likely to be very low and it is expected to be poorly absorbed from the infant's gastrointestinal tract. If Nedocromilo [Spanish] is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
