Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tiotropium bromide? Is Tiotropium bromide safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tiotropium bromide extracts into breast milk? Does Tiotropium bromide has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tiotropium bromide influence milk supply or can Tiotropium bromide decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Tiotropium bromide usage in lactation

Although no published data exist on the use of Tiotropium bromide, its use produces negligible maternal serum levels and any drug in breastmilk would not be absorbed by the infant. The risk to the breastfed infant of maternal Tiotropium bromide inhalation is small.
