I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Amadacycline? Is Amadacycline safe for nursing mother and child? Does Amadacycline extracts into breast milk? Does Amadacycline has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Amadacycline influence milk supply or can Amadacycline decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?
No information is available on the use of Amadacycline during breastfeeding. The manufacturer states that breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment and for 4 days after the last dose. However, based on the excretion of other tetracycline antibiotics Amadacycline, amounts in milk are expected to be low and probably poorly absorbed orally by the breastfed infant. If an infant is breastfed, monitor the infant for possible effects on the gastrointestinal flora, such as diarrhea, candidiasis (e.g., thrush, diaper rash) or rarely, blood in the stool indicating possible antibiotic-associated colitis. As a theoretical precaution, avoid prolonged or repeat courses during nursing.
