Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish]? Is Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] safe for nursing mother and child? Does Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] extracts into breast milk? Does Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] influence milk supply or can Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] usage in lactation

Limited information indicates that maternal doses of Estibogluconato sodico [Spanish] up to 1.4 grams daily produce low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants,[1] especially if the infant is older than 2 months. However, if withholding nursing during therapy is elected, breastfeeding can be reinstituted 24 to 48 hours after the last dose.
