Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate? Is D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate safe for nursing mother and child? Does D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate extracts into breast milk? Does D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate influence milk supply or can D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate usage in lactation

Limited information indicates that maternal doses of D-Gluconic acid, cyclic ester with antimonic acid (H8Sb2O9) (2:1), trisodium salt, nonahydrate up to 1.4 grams daily produce low levels in milk and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants,[1] especially if the infant is older than 2 months. However, if withholding nursing during therapy is elected, breastfeeding can be reinstituted 24 to 48 hours after the last dose.
