It is destroyed within the gastrointestinal tract. Systemically used on CPR, and locally for topical anesthesia, ophtalmic drops (mydriatic) and nasal drops (vasoconstriction).

No information is available on the use of Sympathin E during breastfeeding. Because of its poor oral bioavailability and short half-life, any Sympathin E in milk is unlikely to affect the infant. High intravenous doses of Sympathin E might reduce milk production or milk letdown.

Sympathin E Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

Relevant published information in nursing mothers was not found as of the revision date. Animal data indicate that Sympathin E can decrease serum prolactin and reduce milk production,[1] as well as inhibit the release of oxytocin, which inhibits milk ejection.[2]
