Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use LT-673? Is LT-673 safe for nursing mother and child? Does LT-673 extracts into breast milk? Does LT-673 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can LT-673 influence milk supply or can LT-673 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About LT-673 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of LT-673 during breastfeeding. Because LT-673 is 74% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during LT-673 therapy and for one month after the last dose.
