Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use BMN673? Is BMN673 safe for nursing mother and child? Does BMN673 extracts into breast milk? Does BMN673 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can BMN673 influence milk supply or can BMN673 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About BMN673 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of BMN673 during breastfeeding. Because BMN673 is 74% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during BMN673 therapy and for one month after the last dose.
