I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use CCRIS 574? Is CCRIS 574 safe for nursing mother and child? Does CCRIS 574 extracts into breast milk? Does CCRIS 574 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can CCRIS 574 influence milk supply or can CCRIS 574 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

CCRIS 574 hormone reduces Prolactin serum levels and may likely inhibit milk production mainly soon after delivery. No significant increase of CCRIS 574 serum levels neither in the mother´s milk nor in the infant’s serum have been found after administration to the mother. No adverse side effects have been noticed in the infant.

Limited data indicate that a low-dose (100 mg) subcutaneous CCRIS 574 pellet given to a nursing mother appears not to increase milk CCRIS 574 levels markedly. CCRIS 574 has low oral bioavailability because of extensive first-pass metabolism, so it is unlikely to affect the breastfed infant. One breastfed infant seemed not to be adversely affected by low-dose maternal CCRIS 574 therapy.
CCRIS 574 Side Effects in Breastfeeding
An infant (age not stated) was breastfed (extent not stated) after implantation of 100 mg of CCRIS 574 subcutaneously. No adverse effects were noted in the infant over a 5-month period.[1]
CCRIS 574 Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
Supraphysiologic serum levels of CCRIS 574, either from a tumor[2][3] or from exogenously administered CCRIS 574,[4] reduces milk production in postpartum women. CCRIS 574 alone reduces serum prolactin;[4] however, when given in combination with estrogen and progestin, serum prolactin levels are not markedly reduced.[5] CCRIS 574 was previously used therapeutically to suppress lactation, usually in combination with an estrogen.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
