I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Testim? Is Testim safe for nursing mother and child? Does Testim extracts into breast milk? Does Testim has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Testim influence milk supply or can Testim decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Testim hormone reduces Prolactin serum levels and may likely inhibit milk production mainly soon after delivery. No significant increase of Testim serum levels neither in the mother´s milk nor in the infant’s serum have been found after administration to the mother. No adverse side effects have been noticed in the infant.

Limited data indicate that a low-dose (100 mg) subcutaneous Testim pellet given to a nursing mother appears not to increase milk Testim levels markedly. Testim has low oral bioavailability because of extensive first-pass metabolism, so it is unlikely to affect the breastfed infant. One breastfed infant seemed not to be adversely affected by low-dose maternal Testim therapy.
Testim Side Effects in Breastfeeding
An infant (age not stated) was breastfed (extent not stated) after implantation of 100 mg of Testim subcutaneously. No adverse effects were noted in the infant over a 5-month period.[1]
Testim Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
Supraphysiologic serum levels of Testim, either from a tumor[2][3] or from exogenously administered Testim,[4] reduces milk production in postpartum women. Testim alone reduces serum prolactin;[4] however, when given in combination with estrogen and progestin, serum prolactin levels are not markedly reduced.[5] Testim was previously used therapeutically to suppress lactation, usually in combination with an estrogen.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
