I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Andropatch? Is Andropatch safe for nursing mother and child? Does Andropatch extracts into breast milk? Does Andropatch has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Andropatch influence milk supply or can Andropatch decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Andropatch hormone reduces Prolactin serum levels and may likely inhibit milk production mainly soon after delivery. No significant increase of Andropatch serum levels neither in the mother´s milk nor in the infant’s serum have been found after administration to the mother. No adverse side effects have been noticed in the infant.

Limited data indicate that a low-dose (100 mg) subcutaneous Andropatch pellet given to a nursing mother appears not to increase milk Andropatch levels markedly. Andropatch has low oral bioavailability because of extensive first-pass metabolism, so it is unlikely to affect the breastfed infant. One breastfed infant seemed not to be adversely affected by low-dose maternal Andropatch therapy.
Andropatch Side Effects in Breastfeeding
An infant (age not stated) was breastfed (extent not stated) after implantation of 100 mg of Andropatch subcutaneously. No adverse effects were noted in the infant over a 5-month period.[1]
Andropatch Possible Effects in Breastfeeding
Supraphysiologic serum levels of Andropatch, either from a tumor[2][3] or from exogenously administered Andropatch,[4] reduces milk production in postpartum women. Andropatch alone reduces serum prolactin;[4] however, when given in combination with estrogen and progestin, serum prolactin levels are not markedly reduced.[5] Andropatch was previously used therapeutically to suppress lactation, usually in combination with an estrogen.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
