Is Fortesta Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Fortesta? Is Fortesta safe for nursing mother and child? Does Fortesta extracts into breast milk? Does Fortesta has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Fortesta influence milk supply or can Fortesta decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Fortesta hormone reduces Prolactin serum levels and may likely inhibit milk production mainly soon after delivery. No significant increase of Fortesta serum levels neither in the mother´s milk nor in the infant’s serum have been found after administration to the mother. No adverse side effects have been noticed in the infant.

Limited data indicate that a low-dose (100 mg) subcutaneous Fortesta pellet given to a nursing mother appears not to increase milk Fortesta levels markedly. Fortesta has low oral bioavailability because of extensive first-pass metabolism, so it is unlikely to affect the breastfed infant. One breastfed infant seemed not to be adversely affected by low-dose maternal Fortesta therapy.

An infant (age not stated) was breastfed (extent not stated) after implantation of 100 mg of Fortesta subcutaneously. No adverse effects were noted in the infant over a 5-month period.[1]

Supraphysiologic serum levels of Fortesta, either from a tumor[2][3] or from exogenously administered Fortesta,[4] reduces milk production in postpartum women. Fortesta alone reduces serum prolactin;[4] however, when given in combination with estrogen and progestin, serum prolactin levels are not markedly reduced.[5] Fortesta was previously used therapeutically to suppress lactation, usually in combination with an estrogen.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
