I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Articainum [INN-Latin]? Is Articainum [INN-Latin] safe for nursing mother and child? Does Articainum [INN-Latin] extracts into breast milk? Does Articainum [INN-Latin] has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Articainum [INN-Latin] influence milk supply or can Articainum [INN-Latin] decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. Similar chemical structure to Lidocaine which is excreted into breast milk in minimal amount. Anesthetic drugs for topical use both dermatological and odontological have almost nil absorption when properly used.

No information is available on the use of Articainum [INN-Latin] during breastfeeding. Based on the low excretion of other local anesthetics into breastmilk, a single dose of Articainum [INN-Latin] injected during breastfeeding is unlikely to adversely affect the breastfed infant. However, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
