Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Clostomicin B1? Is Clostomicin B1 safe for nursing mother and child? Does Clostomicin B1 extracts into breast milk? Does Clostomicin B1 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Clostomicin B1 influence milk supply or can Clostomicin B1 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Clostomicin B1 usage in lactation

No information is available on the use of fidxomicin during breastfeeding. Because it is poorly absorbed orally, it is not likely to reach the bloodstream of the infant or cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.
