Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use PAR 101? Is PAR 101 safe for nursing mother and child? Does PAR 101 extracts into breast milk? Does PAR 101 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can PAR 101 influence milk supply or can PAR 101 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About PAR 101 usage in lactation

No information is available on the use of fidxomicin during breastfeeding. Because it is poorly absorbed orally, it is not likely to reach the bloodstream of the infant or cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.
