Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use UNII-BHV525JOBH? Is UNII-BHV525JOBH safe for nursing mother and child? Does UNII-BHV525JOBH extracts into breast milk? Does UNII-BHV525JOBH has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can UNII-BHV525JOBH influence milk supply or can UNII-BHV525JOBH decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About UNII-BHV525JOBH usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of UNII-BHV525JOBH during breastfeeding. Its excretion into breastmilk is likely similar to that of imipenem and meropenem, which produce low levels in milk that are not expected to cause adverse effects in breastfed infants. Occasionally disruption of the infant's gastrointestinal flora, resulting in diarrhea or thrush has been reported with beta-lactams, but these effects have not been adequately evaluated. UNII-BHV525JOBH is acceptable in nursing mothers.
