Does TA 7284 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can TA 7284 influence milk supply or can TA 7284 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About TA 7284 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of TA 7284 during breastfeeding. TA 7284 is is an uncharged molecule that is 99% protein bound in plasma, so it is unlikely to pass into breastmilk in clinically important amounts. The manufacturer does not recommend TA 7284 during breastfeeding because of a theoretical risk to the infant's developing kidney. An alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
